Hey everyone,
this guy hasn't visited this site it looks like since he posted this thread.
I haven't received the answers nor seen them posted.
So I"m taking the GMAT on May 12th and I have 12 days to prepare.
I'm going to try solving these 99 questions and then posting the answers and then asking questions or answering them.
Would people like to post their numerical answers a,b,c,d,e and share with everyone else? Sort of like comparing notes in case original poster doesn't come around to posting answers.
It should take me around a week or so before I get around to answering all these questions (working on other practice tests right now)

Impossible is nothing
We could make a topic for the answers of these questions, and post the link in the topic, if a question already been handled. Maybe an idea?skang357 wrote:Hey everyone,

There seems to be a lot of interest in this thread so I will post my answers here for now.
I should be able to post all of my answer by the end of this weekend hopefully.
Hope to see others answers as well.

21) How long did it take Helen to drive from home to her parents?
a. Helen’s ave speed was 72Km/h
b. If Helen’s ave speed had been 8km/h faster it would have taken her 1 hour less
I have a feeling the answer for this is B.
For sure I know you can answer the question through C. The rate would then be 72 km/h and takes 10 hours.
Can someone show how to solve the question through only B?

There is a problem very similar to this one given in OG 10 that uses proportions rather than absolute numbers. Same type of information as this question but it was in proportions for Statement 2 as opposed to absolutes.vittalgmat wrote:Hopefully this would be of some helpskang357 wrote:21) How long did it take Helen to drive from home to her parents?

Isn't it possible to answer this question using statement 2 through trial/error?

let me try.
we have d = rt - (1)
from stmt 2, we get d = (r+8)(t-1) --(2)
equating 1 and 2 and solving
(r+8)(t-1) = rt
==> 8(t-1) = r
2 variables and 1 eqn. So not sufficient.
I hope I havent missed anything.
