Ashish321,

Business schools do, in fact, value the kind of risk-taking leadership you are taking in starting your own investing business, and they will certainly acknowledge your leadership in your corporate career (they will not ignore or dismiss it). There are many business schools that will admit you if you apply as an independent investor (as you mentioned your plan was). My point was that to maximize your chances of admission at top schools you would -- in my opinion -- be in a stronger position applying from within your previous career with investing perhaps as a second / part-time position. This is my opinion, not an assertion of business schools' preferences. Because the odds of getting into top schools are so long, I tend to think in terms of eliminating or minimizing negatives or question marks, but by all means, pursue your career the way you want to pursue it, and apply for an MBA.

Good luck,
Paul Bodine
