Right book for RC?

by papgust » Sat Oct 17, 2009 8:01 pm
All,

Basically i'm looking for a single book that covers decent strategies for RC and need lots of hard practice questions of RC. Can someone suggest a good book to meet my needs? I'm also fine with LSAT passages/strategies provided it is similar to GMAT.

Powerscore RC bible covers good strategies but do not have much of practice questions. I feel that Rc's of OG is never ever nearer to actual GMAT Rc's. They are too easy to work on.

How about kaplan? Which book of kaplan covers all listed above? Please help.

I guess that if you have the strategy aspects covered you should go for LSAT sets (that is, if you've already bought the OG and the verbal supplement). Here are some free ones - you can also get more if you buy one of the official LSAT test sets. Enjoy!

Thanks Dana,

As far as strategy is concerned for RC, i've still not covered them. So, which book is right from strategies perspective?

After building the strategies, which LSAT book is best for practice. I guess the LSAT sets provided by you are just sample sets.

It's weird how someone posted this just minutes apart from your post. Here's my take on it.

Hi Dana,

Sorry to say that this post do not address to what i'm looking for. Basically, i want to practice lots of LSAT RC passages. My idea is to practice devotedly 2-3 passages everyday for a period of 2 months atleast.

Is there any book that has tons of LSAT passages to practice?
I heard that there is 1000RC document floating across the forums. Does this document have LSAT passages?

Really sorry to pester you again and again!

There are quite a few books with LSAT passages, most of them edited by LSAC. You have the Superprep one (covers some strategy as well, I hear) and the 10 official, 10 more official etc... titles. I think you can easily find them on amazon.com.

I'm usually suspicious of the 1000 series documents, since they're just some docs floating on the Internet and supposedly created by the scoretop.com site, which has been shut down by GMAC. I suggest you use this only if all else fails.

BTW, here are some free sets. Enjoy!
