(D) doctors attribute much of the increase in cases of type II diabetes - doctors donot attribute. misplaced modifier causes a change in the meaning of the sentence . ELIMINATE

This is a much v/s many question.
Since the sentence talks about the increase in cases and not the cases itself we use much instead of many.

Eliminated B and E.

In C they lacks the antecedent.

In D doctors attribute change the meaning . It the increase in number of cases that can be attribute to poor eating and exercise habits.

A is correct.

(B) many of the increase in cases of type II diabetes are attributable
(C) they can attribute much of the increase in cases of type II diabetes
