What is usual Penalty

I had taken GMAT couple of years ago and got 570. I remember running out of time in verbal and leaving 3 questions unanswered. Anybody has approximate idea of what the penalty is for leaving 3 questions in a section unanswered??

The reason you're not getting any replies is because no one can know for sure. Leaving blanks ensures you get a string of wrong answers, which will surely affect your score. How much, that's really hard to say.

No one can answer because no one knows the GMAT algorithm. There is a significant penalty attached to leaving things blank (which is why it's better to fly through the last 5 in 3 minutes than spend all your time on #33 and not even get to #34-37, but no one knows exactly how much it hurts you to leave things blank.

I thought I heard it was 2-3% for every question left blank?

Either way, It's a significant penalty. Try to practice your timing so you aren't face with this issue.

I left the last Q unanswered in Verbal and I was thinking may be I lost 10 points or so. Like other users have pointed out it's hard to say since no one has or can decipher the gmat scoring algorithm.
