"The strategy to follow is to identify the different types of concepts tested, compile an exhaustive collection of rules and techniques by reading the usual books available and make sure that you are familiar with them. Learning the rules eliminates the need to practice. "

Hi

Thanks for the tips. With regards to your statement above could you please specify how exactly did you apply this for Quant/Data Sufficiency topics??

Thanks

Good job! I'd be interested in seeing your notes, but I think its worth it for all of us to keep in mind that this approach would probably work best for someone taking their notes on their own. In school I had the same approach to just about all my tests and I'm doing the same with the GMAT (albeit the GMAT has me a little shaken so its more daunting than usual).

The practice of writing something down embeds it in another area of our memory, an area more resistant to everyday distractions. For instance, while students in spelling bees aren't allowed to use a pencil and paper, you'll often notice them tracing letters out with their finger in their palm because seeing themselves perform this action helps put them back in the state when they were originally writing it.

I'm really glad this method worked for you as I've been relying on it as my primary study tool: highlighting in my books, note taking on my highlights and then flash cards on anything I'm still having trouble with after that. Seeing your success might make it easier for me to calm down and really absorb. Thanks!!
