Hey all,
I took the GMAT yesterday and scored a 530 and I am not happy about it. Truthfully, I'm more annoyed than sad because I have to study for this thing again and find out why I did so terrible on the verbal.
The following is my practice scores:
Kaplan Diagnostics (Q33 V35) 550
Kaplan 1 (Q44 V29) 630
Kaplan 2 (Q 38 V 28) 590
Kaplan 3 (Q 36 V 32) 580
Kaplan 4 (Q 44 V 33) 610
Kaplan 5 (Q 35 V 32) 580
Kaplan 6 (Q 40 V 36) 630
Kaplan 7 (Q 41 V 46) 670
GMAT PREP 1 (forgot breakdown) 600
I wrote down what did me in for the test:
1. Test fatigue. I did not practice the AWA until the final week. I should have done more.
2. I did not do the GMAT PREP tests, but focused on the Kaplan.
3. I did not sleep well the night before and woke up at 7 AM with only 6 hours of sleep. I couldn't fall back asleep.
4. I took the test between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm, which is my weak hours. I tend to get sleepy by 3:00 pm, but I thought I'd schedule the test at 12:00 pm because I wanted to sleep in.
5. I took up smoking again because I was stressed.
6. I did not focus on Verbal as much as I should have. I was more worried about the Quant section.
I've read other posts here and found the AWA is important to test on to fight test fatigue. I will test with the AWA section from now on.
My fellow brothers and sisters, next time I post here, I will receive a better score. I'm going to go Conan the Barbarian on the GMAT.
There are a few good things about this test that I discovered after dwelling on it yesterday. I've never wanted something so bad in my life.
