Hi,

I took my GMAT on Jan 23 2007.
score: 690 (91%) Q 48 V 36.

I aimed at a 700+ but as most top MBA programs GMAT average is around 690 I am not taking the exam again.

important insights:
I was told GMATprep questions will reapear in the real exam - I took each GMATprep test 3 times, had all questions virtually memorized - none reapeared in the actual exam!
perhaps the change of GMAT company brings about more exam changes we are not yet familiar with.
is it possible that the "new GMAT" (as of 2007) is harder and MBA programs GMAT averages might decline slightly?

well i feel gmac couldnt change anything on real gmat {diff level etc}
without changing its gmat prep
however i feel we need more input from real gmat takers on ths isuue
wat u guys say?

Just to clarify, it's never a guarantee that GMATPrep questions will appear on the actual exam. In fact, you can usually count on those questions not appearing. There is a slightly higher probability however that you will encounter questions on your real GMAT that are similar to those that you studies in GMATPrep or OG...

As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any indication that GMAC has changed the GMAT test.

In any case, you should be proud of your score, Ron! Great work!

Although it is not unheard of, expecting to see GMATPrep questions in actual GMAT is not right. Like beatthegmat indicated, since GMAC already knows these questions have been solved by everyone who takes GMAT, there is very less chance of seeing those questions on actual GMAT.

Difficulty level of the questions and the 'reflected scores' are very close btw GMATPrep and actual GMAT. You may also see questions based on the same concept or trick.
