Q49 - 88th Percentile
V38 - 83rd Percentile
720 - 95th Percentile
Well, I'm done. I was absolutely exhausted (and hungry) by the end of the exam, which I honestly could FEEL affecting me on the verbal section. A little bit of pre-test nerves, and my first Quant question was very difficult, but recovered well. I know that my ability level is closer to 41-42 on Verbal, so I figure that cost me a 730 or a 740. Honestly, I'm not sure what to do...should I take again and aim for 750 (which is what I want) or sit on the score? I have the typical list of schools (HBS, Penn, etc...) but am worried my GPA (3.6) and demographic (white male) is going to hold me back with "only" a 720.
As for practice, I did the following:
Currently enrolled in MGMAT (class ends in two weeks, but I took it anyways, you'll see why). Didn't study much quant, did all the OG problems for reading comp. and sentence correction. (should've studied critical reasoning more).
Anyways, I did probably 7-8 hours of studying in addition to the 20 hours of class I've had so far.
These were my practice scores:
MGMAT 1 - 650 (Q44, V35)
MGMAT 2 - 650 (Q44, V35)
MGMAT 3 - 650 (Q44, V35)
that's when I did most of my OG studying for Verbal...This past Sunday I took
GMATPrep 1 - 750 (Q49, V44)
Extremely encouraged, I took GMATPrep 2 Friday night (yesterday) and scored 720 (Q48, V41). Feeling strongly that I'm on a roll (I likened hit to a hitting streak in baseball, whereas you'd rather keep "playing" than waiting a few days for the next game), I re-scheduled my GMAT fom 12/4/08 to this morning.
Not sure what to do at this point, as I understand that 720 is a great score, but part of me says that if I actually dedicate myself to this thing I could score 750+.
