Hi all,
I took the GMAT for the second time today and scored 700. Two years ago, in my first attempt I scored 600.
In my previous exam, even though I didn't have any time to study I managed to get 49 on Quant, but my verbal was too bad (V21, 29%). As English is not my native language, I was so scared of the Verbal part. This year when I decided to take the GMAT again, a friend of mine suggested me this website/forum. I read many posts from people all around the world, gained new perspectives and learned about GMAT strategies.
This time I had about 2-3 weeks to prepare for the exam. I downloaded whatever I found on this forum and gmatclub forum. I made my own flashcards and went over them 4-5 times before the exam. I got the OG for Verbal and worked on it. As I didn't have much time, I didn't buy any other books. Also, for the quantitative part, I bought "the Challenges" from gmatclub.com. I did 14 out of 25 quantitative tests. In the actual exam today, I was kind of upset to see that my quantitative did not improve at all, but I was glad to see that my verbal increased from 29% to 81%. It seemed like a dream a couple of weeks ago!
I did 4 CAT practice tests before the test:
MGMAT free CAT: 720
GMAT Prep 1: 740
GMAT Prep 2: 760
Princeton Review free CAT: 680
Now, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the beat-the-gmat community. You all have been of great help for me. I appreciate the time you spend on this forum and your willingness to help other people. Thanks for sharing your ideas, strategies, comments, etc.
Good luck to everybody..
