Good day.

It was a day to forget, I did well on AWA, then finished the Quant and i was sure that i did good, i was in the verbal section and i took a look at the time, and there was only 5 minutes remaining with 10 questions to go, i was shocked and started doing random guessing, obviously it didn't work out, and there came my score : 580 (60%) , Q47 (79%) , and shocking V23 (29%).

Iam so disapointed, i undertook the IBT TOEFL last month and got 105 (R25, L27, S28,W25) and i was hoping that i can get 70% in Verbal section, but to get 29% is just painful !!!

I am so ashamed with myself, and my dreams of applying to a good school are blown away.

I thought that i write here because this forum gave me some tips and guided me to many resources, thanks again.

And as they do in that show ( Punk'd) :

Anas,

Just my 2 cents.

Nothing to be ashamed of (score of 580 Q:47 V:29 ). Focus on Verbal to get better sense of the timing and the concepts. Guessing the last 10 is definitely what undid you on this one(its the last phase that narrows down your score). A jump in points on Verbal pushes your overall score more than a similar increase on the Quant side(just from the debrief's I have seen and IMO it is true also)

As far as quant is concerned, 47 is a good scaled score and with a little more focus it's very possible that u cross the 50 barrier also in ur next attempt in addn to improving ur Verbal.

Good luck on your next attempt and u r in the right place for any future guidance that may be needed! GMAT is not for the faint hearted and I am sure u r not one.

Keep in mind failure(by one's own standards) is the stepping stone for success.Again wishing u a 700+ score on ur next attempt.

Regards,
Cramya
