I took my GMAT yesterday after two months of studying only at night after my 10 hours 6 days a week job. I scored 600 which I believe is not good for my abilities, but it was enough for me as the university i am applying to asks for a minimum of 570. Lucky me eh!!
First my scores were Q:45 V:27. I kicked ass in the quantitative part as a score of 45 is very good knowing that I didn't answer the last two questions as I the time ended.
But what is surprising me is my Verbal score. I totally believe it should be better. I did good in it may be not excellent but to get a score below the 30 was not good at all. I want to know something from the exprienced guys here, first if the verbal section provides questions also in terms of difficulty like the quantitative part, or the next question is not related to whether you answer the previous question right or wrong?
I'm ok with my score although i was looking for something above 650. But my problem was that the exam is something totally different from what I saw in the preparation tests I did. While studying, I didn't want to invest much in it. I only bought the official GMAT book 11th edition, The Manahattan Verbal Guide, and some tests from here and there. And my problem was that I didn't take an exam for more than two years, my last exam was in the university in 2006.
I just wanted to share my experience, and I wanna thank this forum and all the people that manage it because it is really helping a lot but the problem that I find it late in the internet. But anyway, thanks again guys, and keep the hard work. I will keep coming back as I'm a math addict.
Regards.
