Stanford peer recommendation

For my peer recommendation, I'd like to select someone who worked with me on a nonprofit project. The "peer" description is someone who is not a "subordinate." Although we are peers in the office, on this extracurricular nonprofit project, I managed the project. Is this acceptable?

Tess,

I think you are clear.

I believe what the admissions committee is looking to avoid is a situation where someone who is beholden to you in any way (e.g., performance evaluation, salary input) is writing that peer recommendation.

If you do not hold this type of sway over your colleague, I would think that should be fine.
