Dear tini,

Based on the information provided, I think you are building a competitive application to your target schools. However, you do not have your GMAT score yet for a complete picture. In addition to your GMAT and GPA, your essays, recommendations, and interviews are critical to the ultimate decision. You need to find a way to distinguish yourself from other applicants from India, most likely in your extracurriculars/personal experiences as your professional experience is over-represented in the applicant pool. Be sure to convey your successful leadership and teamwork experiences in your essays as well as a solid rationale for getting your MBA in relation to your past experiences and future career goals.

Best of luck,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the fast response. Can you tell me where do I stand with my prior GMAT score of 620 in the applicant pool? I am planning to retake but just want to know. In GMATPREP my quant is in range of 44-49 & Verbal 34-38. I am trying to improve my verbal score by 3-4 points. Anyway, I would like to know where I stand with a 620.

Dear tini,

It depends on how close your 620 is to the average GMAT for your target schools. If you are above the average, then you are in a good position. If you are below the average, but within the mid-50% range, then you have a shot although your application is not as strong as it would be if you were above the average. If your score is outside the mid-50% range, then the school is a bit of a reach for you and your other application components will need to make a compelling case for your admission as well as mitigate your GMAT score.

Good luck,
Lisa

You should be able to find the class profile for any school on the school's website.
