730 49Q / 41V IR: 5 - Beat the GMAT, but worried about IR!

I scored a 730 49Q (83%) / 41V (93%) - AWA - 6.0 / IR - 5.0.
I was really happy with my initial score, but disappointed with my IR score. I'm looking to apply to a few of the Top 5 programs. I know IR won't be a focus given how new it is, but I wanted to get the group's thoughts to see if it is worth a re-take. Note this is my third time taking it, jumped from a 680 in February.

Congrats on a great score! I do not think you should retake it. If you don't get in to a top 5 program, it won't be because you scored a 5 on IR. Focus on your essays and apps now.

Congrats on your 730. I guess NextGreatLeader has mentioned the exact point why you shouldn't go for retake. Moreover you need to spend another month on other aspects of GMAT as well apart from IR to get the same/better score. Instead that valuable time can be spent on improving the essays, which would have much impact compared to better IR score.

Apart from that what was your previous split up ? And how did you manage to improve it to 730 and for how long did you prepare ? Would be glad if you can share some thoughts about it.

Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
