- GMAT Score:730
Hello people,
Its time to payback to the forum.
Finally the ordeal is over for me. I have taken my GMAT today and got 730 (Q:50, V:39). I had appeared last year also with 660.. Here goes the story.
Not much to say about my first attempt, did very casual preparation for a month. Was continuously getting 650-690 in all tests, still went ahead and took it in August 2008. Anyways, I was totally depressed and dropped the plans for MBA, but destiny had it....... I was forced to appear for the exam by my brother and I started up again in July 2009 and took Sept 9 as my date.
Did OG 12, Manhattan SC, Kaplan premier, Kaplan 800 and princeton (yeah pretty long list).. but here goes the gist
1) OG 12 - Bible - check answers of all questions in detail, even if you got it right........Reading basic grammar book will not help, as GMAT has its own set of rules which may be very different from standard grammar rules....
2) Manhattan SC - Amazing book for people who want to shoot their SC accuracy
3) Kaplan 800 - good to ramp up once you are done with the basics
I took following tests -
Princeton 1 - 730
Princeton 1 - 740
Kaplan 1 - 610
Kaplan 2 - 630
Kaplan 3 - 640
Manhattan 1 - 730
Manhattan 2 - 770
Manhattan 3 - 740
Manhattan 4 - 780
Manhattan 5 - 770
GMATPREP1 - 760
GMATPREP2 - 720
Well, as you can see, I attempted many tests and it really helped me in pacing myself.
Kaplan tests are very biased, add 100 points to get your actual score, Manhattan has pretty difficult maths but verbal seems okay. Princeton tests quite close to your actual score. and ofcourse, GMATPREP is the key.........
Actual maths in GMAT was very close to GMATPREP....
That's it.... I am happy, although was hoping for 750+ but never mind... Have to start the application process..
Please post your replies and I will be happy to share anything
Best regards,
