Question about Recommenders

by DCJ » Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:17 am
Will schools be suspicious if one of my three recommendations does not come from a recommender's work email address? A recommender from a past employer has recently left the employer to work independently. Now, he contracts with different clients and uses a personal email address for business. He can certainly list contact info for his current client but does not have a business email address for that client.

Dear DCJ,

No, the schools will not be suspicious. It is not uncommon for people to use personal email addresses for things like recommendations as some businesses do not want their employees to use business resources for these activities. Enter his information and proceed.

Good luck,
Lisa
