I need help - 620 won't do

by santsark » Thu Feb 14, 2008 2:12 am
Hi All,

I'm back to this forum after exactly 3 months. I was preparing for GMAT in Aug-OCt 2007 timeframe. I appeared for the test in October last week and scored only 620. I was really disappointed. I was so down that i didn't even thought of trying once more. I had no hope that I can do better.

Withing the last three months I gave up my MBA ambition and concentrated on my job. I even took a step ahad and changed my employer. But still now there are days n nights when I still aspire to complete my MBA from a reputed institution. And for that I need to score 700+.

In my last prep I had done OG 11 and Kaplan and Manhattan GMAT. I scored 660 and 640 in my OG Prep test. I was hoping I will do better in real exam as it has been with me always. My actual results have been better than expectation.

Anyways now I want to really jump back and take the GMAT. I want some suggestion from you people. Where to start from and what all should I include in my prep. Please guys help me out.

I felt compelled to respond as I too scored a 620 but aim to retake the GMAT and improve my score (and ultimately attend the best school I possibly can).

My story is here: https://www.beatthegmat.com/disappointed ... t8450.html.

Hope you can refocus and try again. My experience in the past few weeks is that my OG 11 review the first time around was insufficient. I'm about 350 problems (out of ~800) into my complete OG 11 review and am starting to gain more confidence.

You can do it.
