Prior to beginning to study for the GMAT, I read a post on this website about how another person had just beat the GMAT. He described a study pattern of 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week, over about 3 months. I decided to model my study schedule this post in order to reach my goal of a 750 on the GMAT.
I enrolled in Manhattan GMAT's 9 week classroom course. The course is extremely thorough and helpful. The instructors are knowledgeable. The instructors also are great teachers, as they are able to attack a problem from several points of view. The books are content heavy and focus on knowing how to do the problem first, then applying multiple strategies to do the question faster. The 6 practice exams are very similar to the real thing.
I studied for 2-3 hours a night for 5-6 days a week over three months. I took a practice exam at the very beginning of studying to use as a baseline. I took my second exam 6 weeks into studying, and took an exam every weekend after that until the exam.
I felt very confident going into the exam. Manhattan GMAT prepared me well and I recommend the course to anyone who is preparing to take the GMAT.
