GMAT 590.. what do I do?

by kbharadwaj.1987 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 2:54 am
Sir, I gave my GMAT today, and got a score of 590(quant-48, verbal-24).
What are my chances? What do I do?
Give it again? I don't have any functional experience and I have a GPA of 2.6.
Please let me know which B-school would be likely to accept me?

The combination of your GPA, GMAT score, and lack of work experience will make it difficult for you to get into a strong business school. I recommend that you: 1) take a GMAT course to learn how to master to the test and get a higher score; 2) create an alternate transcript by taking and getting good grades in business-related college level courses; and 3) get at least two years of meaningful, full-time work experience.

I have a similar situation as yours and would appreciate any feedback. Just finished school and I scored a 580 on my GMAT, had a 3.9 GPA at a accredit B-school, and no full-time experience, but have internship & extracurricular activities. What level school could I get into w/ this profile (top 40-50, etc.)?
