Need help ! Just got 590

by iwill » Tue Oct 14, 2008 2:25 am
Dear all,

I took GMAT last week and miserably failed. Got just 590[Q 40, V 31]
I never took Q section seriously, and I paid for that .. :(

I used to get around 650-660 in GMATprep and 570-590 range in Kaplan CD's and a strike rate of 75-80 % in OG 11..

My study material includes

Kaplan, Princeton,OG 11, and 1000 series for CR,RC and SC.

So please help me in analysing where I went wrong !

doubt: GMAT is a universal test, where your percentile score will be the same (for a particular score) irrespective of the test taking country .. Coz, my friend (in India) got 48 for quant with 86 percentile and his friend (in US ) got 90 percentile for quant , though he got less than 48 marks in quant section ..

Thanks,
Iwill

If you say you didn't take quantitative seriously enough, then you already know one thing that possibly went wrong.

When you were taking the test, did you notice yourself having trouble with particular types of questions? Did you get distracted during any questions? Did you notice any questions that you knew how to do, but couldn't remember one small detail of the process that kept you from getting the right answer? Did you run out of time and have to guess a lot?

These are the types of questions you need to ask yourself and then see if you can work on those areas.

It's possible you may have just had an off day.
