Hello to everyone in the forum and big thanks to all the folks who provided immense help in my prep . I gave my GMAT in November just before the admission deadline of one college and then I am 1 month in MBA program now. Sorry to write my story late but again thanks to you guys...
To begin with I am 34 (so online is only help) , Bachelors in Mechanical Engg and work ex is Systems (Retail, Finance etc). and was looking for Part Time MBA only . In my younger days I did get admitted to Indian MBA Institutes : SP Jain , Shailesh J Meheta(IIT Bombay MBA), IIFT and XIMB but did not study and choose to keep working instead. It was uphill task to start studying again the things that I had left some 12+ years back .
Bought all the books as recommended and studied weekends/early morning , Daily questions from forums wrote some mock tests etc . Somewhere in my heart I was trying to reach or cross 700 barrier well 3 months into prep I wrote the exam and scored 680 ...was kind of heartbreak but I had to write my exam (before I had planned) to complete my application . I thought to retake it but good colleges in US usually high 680's and 700's we good enough for Part Time MBA . Colleges - Booth, Anderson , Ross, Carlson(systems), Olin etc .
All the guys in forum rock so I am not worth giving any advise but yes do take the IR part seriously although institutes are not looking into it. It does effect your mind set before the quant section a lot . If the IR section is good/fair you will be confident in Quant as well .
And Prep be consistent same i see in my MBA course that If I study 30 mins a day (if that the min time) I still stay in touch and make up in weekend .GMAT is very reflective of what you will be in MBA program and how you will study to be true not sure about Full time but I can tell from my exp.
Well best wishes to all ...and again million thanks to everyone .
