Hey,
Long time reader. First time poster....
Just took GMAT today, 720 47q 41v, pretty happy about it.
Here are my cats
MGMAT 1 - 710 49q 38v
MGMAT 2 - 740 48q 44v
MGMAT 3 - 710 49q 40v
GMATPrep 1 - 730 49q 41v
GMATPrep 2 - 730 49q 40v
For verbal I feel the GMAT prep is near exact replica to the difficulty of the test. For quant...well...the prompts seemed more wordy and tricky than what I had previously seen. In hindsight i wish I had practiced word translation type questions more than I did...those seemed to be in heavy abundance which threw of my pace and added stress.
As you can see I scored bellow virtually any of my cat quants, I did not manage the stress and time demand optimally enough....I honestly felt like I was going to get sub 45 on quant...it's tough and stressful don't let it deter you.
If I could do it over again, I would have more stringently followed the set approach mgmat has in their books, I also would have incorporated more time management focus on all my quant questions. Time every single question I did to under 2minutes....what prevented me from 750 was time management not my intellect or difficulty of the problems. I also wouldn't have scheduled an 8am test....that was stupid.
Well that's that, I feel GMAT is a check the box requirement. I broke 700....so I consider that box checked.
I was hoping to rise to the occasion with a 740, although in the grand scheme of things 740 vs 720 isn't going to prevent where I get into.
