Hi all,

In exactly 60 days I am taking the GMAT and I need some advice on how to get my desired score which is 700. I have an engineering background and I work roughly 45-55 hours a week. Personality wise, I overanalyze things which has resulted in me not knowing how to study and thats where I need some guidance

February
*Studied for the first time for 1 week, took Kaplan free practice exam and scored 500. Did not finish on time verbal struggled with math,
*For the remaining 3 weeks of Feb I worked on my 2 weaknesses: Number Properties, Sentence Correction & do some maint. on the rest

March
*I get a 640 on my first Manhattan GMAT test(140 improvement from last). Furthermore, I only had to guess 2 questions from the Math section which were hard and I finished the verbal with 5 extra minutes. Also, I saw a 60% increase on my 2 weaknesses: NP & SC. THINGS ARE LOOKING GREAT!!

* For the next 3 weeks I focus on the weaker points from the last exam which were Geometry and RC. I did nothing else but focus on those 2. Also, for 1 week, I did not study due to long hours.
*Yesterday, I took my Manhattan GMAT test # 2 and I got a 550. I went down 90 points! To make things worse, I did really bad on my original weaknesses from the February's exam (NP and SC). I did well on my weaknesses from the 2nd exam (Geo + RC). After the practice test, I felt like Rocky once he got knocked out by Mr. T

My question to you is:

1) Obviously it was wrong not to review all material prior to a practice test instead of just focusing on weaknesses. How should I go about reviewing? Perhaps, make sure I do all types of questions on a weekly or biweekly basis as well as review my old mistakes? Specific advice on what worked for you would be great.

2)Should I take a class? I was thinking of Kaplan's online classes. Should I go for advanced or basic? I am looking for 700 but my scores so far (500-640-560) are not there. If I take the class though my argument is the same; by the time I am on the last class of Kaplan Advantage, I will have forgotten the material on the first classes so the 90 point decrease paradigm will happen all over again. This makes me doubt that the class will help me.
