First, left side:

2^8 = 2^4 * 2^4

Pull 2^4 from each term...

2^4(2^4 - 1)/15=
2^4(16 - 1)/15=
2^4=
16

Right side:

2^5 = 2^4 * 2

Pull 2^4 from each term...

2^4(2-1)/5=
2^4(1)/5=
16/5

So now you have 16 + 16/5. Take 16*5, which equals 80.

80/5 + 16/5 = 96/5

For now on...include the answer choices! :)
