B is my choice

A) Too wordy
C) has - singular sales - plural
D) Having been unecessary
E) as a result is wrong (it doesn't convey "consumer attitude change" as a result sales depressed)

B is unidiomatic "so....as...to" is correct form
C & D have wrong verb tense
E seems to be the best choice
