booth acceptance verification process

by MingW831831 » Mon Feb 10, 2014 8:11 am
Hi everyone. i applied to Booth in R2. just three questions:

1. Does Booth have a verification process for admitted students (ie to verify employment info, dates, university grades, etc.)?
2. If so, how long does this verification process last? How much time between the day you are accepted and when the verification process is fully complete?
3. If i am accepted on March 27, and then voluntarily quit my job in the first week of April, could this jeopardize my acceptance? Should I wait to leave my job until the verification process is complete or does it not matter?

thanks

Hi there, you've got a straight forward question and, thankfully, they come with straightforward questions!

1) Yes, they do (all do)

2) It can take approximately 3 - 6 weeks (depending on school, components verified, and company) and takes place over the summer after all deposits are paid for the mostly final round (so e.g. R3). That way they know with 98% certainty what the class will be and they're not wasting their resources.

3) No, it won't matter. They are verifying that you worked there with the appropriate title and salary and role. They are looking for falsifications or fraud, not natural progression. Want to feel more comfortable? It's VERY common for people entering an MBA program to do a pre-MBA internship which requires the person to obviously leave their job voluntarily. So you wouldn't be the only person doing it by any means!

Hope that helps,

Bhavik
