Need Advice in profile evaluation & analyse mistake in G

Hi,

I am a Chartered Accountant from India with 2 years of work experience (1 year in Valuation and advisory service and 1 year as Assistant Manager - Finance in a automobile company) apart from this I have worked with one of the Big4s for three years during my articleship in statutory audit department where I have catered clients from various industries including but not limited to NBFCs, Infrastructure, Insurance, etc.

I appeared for GMAT and I expected a minimum 670 as worst case and believe that 700+ is very achievable target. I turned the other way round, I scored 610 Q48V27, was highly disappointed with the score, as My verbal just isnt so bad. If you ask me about rules and stratagies:
1. I am aware of basic grammar rules, common idioms and structure problems, strategies like selecting low hanging fruits, slash and burn, etc
2. I am aware of common fallacies of CR and also about paraphrasing in RCs

I have exhausted all possible reading materials and so much low that I dont seem to be interested in appearing again for the exam.

I need your advise on below mentioned points:
1. With this profile and mentioned score which good bschools shall be a good target to go ahead with application?
2. Incase I wish to improve my verbal what would be a better way? (I have also scored good 40 in my mocks at times, just that there is a lack of consistancy where it ranges from 27-40)

Hi sudave,

The process of applying to (and ultimately attending) Business School will require a big investment of time, money and energy on your part, so you really should make sure that the Programs that you apply to match YOUR career goals/needs. There are a variety of factors that go into selecting the Schools that you'll apply to. Instead of just applying to Programs in which you might have a good chance to 'get in', here are some other things to think about:

1) Is there a particular company that you want to work for or industry that you want to work in? Certain degrees are more appropriate than others if you have a specific career goal.
2) What do you want your MBA to do for you?
3) Do you want to go to School full-time or part-time?
4) Are you willing to relocate? Are you comfortable with working through a program that is primarily online?
5) Are you going to be applying for scholarships?
Etc.

It's okay if you don't have answers to any of these questions just yet, but you really should try to define all of the important variables in terms of your goals, so that you can tailor your entire approach to getting into the best School that matches what you're looking for.

Before we can discuss how you might go about studying for a retest, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've studied so far and your goals:

1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
