Strategy pre-test

by missrochelle » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:17 pm
With my test just a few days away - would appreciate some advice on what to focus on for the next few days.....considering my weaknesses and what's more likely to be on test :

Practice tests mid-hi 600s
strengths:
inequalities,
equations,
percent/volume/weighted average problems,
more complex d.s. problems (number properties abs value)

weaknesses:
in order:
geometry formulas
rates/work/time - i get most of these very confused
some ratio problems (on d.s - sometimes confused when we have "value" versus "ratio" when we can compute the value, etc).
mean/median/average/range. get the easy ones right. the hard ones are a mystery.

on my gmat prep tests for some reason - i get more of the latter than the former! and they are the ones i miss consistently (or guess)

any advice appreciated.

Hello
Spend most of your time reviewing material that you've already done to make sure that you've learned from your mistakes. Also, make sure you spend some time going over your strengths as well because your strengths will get you a lot of your points. It may also be a good idea to do one more practice test to help with your stamina; that said you want to make sure that you're not tired on test day because a fresh mind is way more important than doing a couple extra problems.

If you still feel like you have some time to work after reviewing then you should search for questions with your weaknesses. Just put the keywords into the search box and you should come up with some stuff.

Cheers!
