Hi All,
I would take this opportunity to thank all the members of this wonderful community who helped me a lot in my preparation for the GMAT.
I took the test on 12th July (I know I am very late for this post...lazy..) and managed a 710. I was hitting 730-740 in my MGMAT, so i was expecting my score in more or less this range, but I think I messed up my Verbal section big time.
AWA Section:
I spent the minimum time preparing for the essays and 5 represents the time and efforts I put preparing for this. I wrote only 3 moc tests with AWA section and went through the topics in Official Guide in the last weekend before the exam. Though I will not recommend putting lot of efforts in AWA, but I strongly recommend taking the complete tests with AWA section. This will build up your stamina to be fully concentrated during the last 10-15 minutes of the dreadful (Verbal Section).
Quant:
I took my 8 minutes break after AWA and started quant a minute later as the scanning machine was not recognizing my palm scan and they were not allowing me to enter. Quant section started with 73:20 remaining. (I was freaked out!!!). Took 10-15 seconds to regain my calm and took up the charge. Thanks to that time spent, I think I did pretty good in first 6-7 questions as was hitting probability and sets pretty early, even a cuboid problem in geometry. GMATPREP is the closest to what you may get on your D-Day.
Verbal:
This was the monster of all. I prepared a lot for Verbal but I think must have left some windows up-opened as I struggled a lot from 1st question itself. I found all three of them (SC, CR and RC) on a higher level of difficulty against any moc tests. As per my experience, be ready for a challenging verbal section. I did all the MGMAT mocs and was hitting 39-40 in verbal.
Preparation:
1. MGMAT mocs
2. GMAT PREP
3. Official Guide 11th Edition
4. Official Guide (Verbal Section)
730 would have been more satisfying, but I am happy.
Took 2 weeks off the GMAT and application processes. Enjoyed the time and now starting with my application.
Thanks again to BTG community!!!
