JUST starting...

by pradalove » Thu Oct 08, 2009 1:39 pm
Hi all.

I just bought a Kaplan self study book and my plan is to combat one section every two days. I will first read about the section and memorize the strategies and on the second day, I will do the practice problems and review my answers.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!

pradalove,

That sounds like a good way to start. You need to make sure you understand all of the basics in both the quant/verbal sections. Make sure you thoroughly review the questions after you complete them. Once you have spent a good amount of time going your Kaplan book and feel that you have the basics down you should by the OG 12 book. This is an absolute must! The OG12 has 100's of retired test questions.

Also, you should do some practice tests throughout your study period to see where you stand. The practie tests are a good way to see where you are struggling and need to put in more study time. The practice tests are also great to get the timing down to ensure you can complete the sections in the allotted time.

Good luck with your studies and if you have other questions I am sure the beatthegmat community will answer be willing to help out.
