GMAT Fix Quant or Manhattan Advanced Quant ???

Hi!

I will take the GMAT in 12 days and I need to improve my quant score which I believe is about 45-46. I am aiming for 48, so I can get an overall score of at least 720. I don't think that I will improve my verbal score which ranges from 38-40.

Therefore I need some advice. I will have finished every OG problem (+OG quant) and I will have only time for one of the following two:


Should I go over the Manhattan Advanced Quant
or should I do every GMATPrep problem with the GMATFix database?

As a side note: I already took the GMATPrep practice tests and I am not planning on doing them gain as test simulation, as they won't represent my true score accurately.

What would you guys recommend?

spend you time reviewing the types of questions (e.g., rate or work problems) that you consistently have trouble (timing wise or accuracy) with. if you are scoring that high, then chances are you have a pretty good understanding of the material. it will most likely come down to timing and getting easy questions correct. you are going to answer several of questions incorrectly. however, it's more important that you answer easy questions correctly than answer tough questions correctly.

hmmm that's what I am thinking too. I am currently reviewing the questions I got wrong in the two OGs. I don't want to answer every math question right, especially not the very hard ones, as I am aiming for the 80th percentile. And you're right, I sometimes get some very easy ones wrong or don't know how to handle them, but after reviewing the answers they are very clear to me. So probably I should go for more practice and do the GMATPrep math question.

i would say one big way to improve your math score (from the 46-48 to 48-50 range) is to make sure you are reading the questions properly. I can't tell you how many times I answered a question incorrectly simply because I didn't read the question fully.

a few examples:

i see ".... integers..." when it really says "... even integers"
i see "... number of terms greater than 1 standard deviation from the mean" when it really says "number of terms greater than 1 standard deviation below the mean"

this isn't a gap in knowledge... it is a symptom of not reading each question fully. the GMAT expects this and even gives the answers (you would arrive at by not reading fully) as choices for this reason.
