as u say the rcs that u got on gmat were quite complex ! how did u handle them ? if not the lsat rcs wt can i do to tackle the difficult ones if i get one . regarding magazines & journals i do read the wall street journal ,the economist etc
i jst randomly pick up some articles nd read it . also while reading an article i jst focus ( read each and every wrd ) frm the first 2 paras and jst randomly skim through the rest of the article without comprehending at all nd once i reach the last para read it carefully . does doing this way help ? nd wt to do to tackle the complex rcs ? is the complexity in terms of understanding the rc or is it that it eats up time while reading .awaiting a speedy reply

Sorry . I completely forgot that you had posted a question here.

I had a practised a lot of passages from RC99,and have developed good strategies on handling those type of creppy passages where the passages become dense,so on the actual test I was kinda prepared to handle difficult passages.
regarding magazines & journals i do read the wall street journal ,the economist etc

Your strategy seems fine. I'd additionally suggest that you go through "Thursdays with Ron" Study Hall. Two of the study halls talk about RC strategies. You may find them useful. By the way, while reading a passage are you able to identify the skeleton of the passage i.e. are you able to identify the function of each paragraph in passage and the primary purpose of the passage. Ideally, you should ALWAYS be able to predict the primary purpose of the passage , without even looking at the options. Secondly, while reading a RC, do you try to visualize what you're reading about or at least do you try to relate what you're reading with whatever little you know about a particular topic . For example, I remember I had got a passage regarding galaxies, star and the amount/density of dust present between stars and planets. I started reading the passages and down sentences into the passage,I was still clueless what the passage will probably talk about . So I started again quickly and without trying to understand each minor detail, skimmed through the data ,visualizing stars, planets etc. Things then became easier to interpret then.

Your debrief is really inspirational. It is just what I needed a few days before my GMAT. I feel less pressurized to perform now after reading your post. Life provides a lot of comebacks and your story is an example of that. I hope that I am able to come out with flying colors on 11th and am able to write my experience happily and even I crash, I would take it as an opportunity to make myself better .Congratulations to you!

Ya, I went through it but did the first 5 or 6 tests only. I was getting most of the questions right so didn't do it ahead. It seems you have been preparing for quite sometime, when do you plan to take the exam ?

the reason dat i ask u dis is dat i jst plan to stick to the ogs with respect to verbal or ( shld i go ahead nd luk for materials beyond it ) .i take ur suggestions very seriously coz i draw an ocean of inspiration frm u

Thanks, man! :) I am glad that I inspire you. As I said that you can do the 1000CR document but do the GMAT CRs from there not the LSAT CRs. OGs are good for Verbal as the explanations especially SC will really help you become conceptually strong.

all i need to ask u is with regard to cr this time. u said dat sc concepts can be clear with the ogs wt abt cr i m really confused wrt cr ( coz the amnt of stuff available on net) rnt the ogs enough for cr as well . can u jst jot down the list of things that needs to be done , i mean wt u have reffered to in all your 4 attempts at gmat (apart frm the ogs if nything needs to be done) wrt cr.
as i said ur suggestions are like gold to me
thanks
