A lot of people told me to study section by section. This way we can concetrate on one area at a time. Please reply.
Being a GMAT Trainer with about a decade long successful experience, I strongly recommend that GMAT Prep Study should include the study of Quant and Verbal together at every point of time during studies.
The Recommendation is backed by the following reasoning
1) Studying one area at a time brings unwanted lag in studying the other. (e.g while you study Quant first, your Verbal remain untouched and when you move to Verbal and you gradually start losing your grip from Quant causing waste of efforts that you put to hone your Quant Skills)
2) If both Quant and Verbal are not studied at the same time then you might fail to understand what section needs more focus, concentration and efforts for improvement
3) Studying together can suggest you what section is your strength and how much can you compensate in terms of score by exploiting your strong area for the loss of area that you lack at(if any).
IR and AWA should be focused only about 15-20 days in advance before the Test date and should be practiced while you take Practice CATs
