MGMAT Verbal (Looks like CR and RC are too tough)

Guys,

I am bit confused with my simulated tests results. I have been consistently getting 45-46 Q and 32-34 V on MGMAT simulated tests.

I took my first GMAT Prep today and scored 49 Q and 41 V, a total of 730. Here are my scores:

MGMAT1 630 Q45 V32
MGMAT2 630 Q44 V32
GMAT Prep1 730 Q49 V41
MGMAT3 650 Q45 V 34

I read in many posts that Quant is much more difficult on MGMAT and I agree to this. But I am not sure what to inerpret from my Verbal scores as stated above.

I will be writing GMAT on Jan 5, so any kind words or thoughts would help.

Great job! Seriously, from someone who has taken the GMAT, the GMAT Prep is ALL THAT MATTERS.

Let me repeat that...the GMAT Prep is ALL THAT MATTERS. One more time for good measure, the GMAT Prep is ALL THAT MATTERS :).

So, who cares why MGMAT scores are lower? I would focus instead on why your score is just V41 on GMAT Prep. What else can you study / work on? Which of the three types (RC/CR/SC) was your weakest area? Etc etc...

And again...THE GMAT PREP IS ALL THAT MATTERS.

BTW: What is with all of these people on here saying "I'll be writing on such and such a day", instead of "I'll be taking my test on such and such a day"? Is that a British English thing? Because you are not writing a letter, you're not even writing the essay...it'd make more sense for the GMAT to say "I'll be typing on such and such a day" :P.

That's odd. I find the MGMAT questions easier than GMATprep. I'm definitely in a worse situation.

Can anyone chime in on this?

my opinion on the MGMAT verbal is that their CR logic is wrong and doesn't mimic the logic of the offical exam. The reading comp passages are easier to understand in my opinion than the difficult passages on the actual exam. I think the SC is the only thing from MGMAT verbal that is good and can be taken seriously. They have the best math prep in the industry though.

Would you say that the Kaplan's CAT Verbal section's logic is more consistent with the official exam? Other than, of course, GMATPrep.
