IMO B.

think I've read it somewhere that hopefully should not be used to modify a clause...

My stake on E

"such as " is be used to give examples. Here the example is "electromagnetic waves"

"it is hoped" is non essential modifier, which is used correctly.

I think the author just wants a comparison with electromagnetic waves hence, such as doesn't make sense here.

Moreover, you need nouns after such as and not verbs

I would opt for B

I think such cannot be used here...

Also I have read somewhere....hopefully shldnt be used on gmat

My stake on 'A' as it is more concise, correctly modifying the subject 'The use' as compare to
answer 'B' , which is very wordy and not correctly modifying subject. I could not see any issues using
'hopefully' in GMAT.
