Though released by Edward in only his twenties, his masterpiece to date, 'the cupid's arrows' does not seem to appear as an amateur art would

A. does not seem to appear as an amateur art would
B. seems not to appear as an amateur art
C. does not appear like an amateur art
D. does not appear like an amateur art does
E. appears unlike an amateur art

seem to appear and appear are same so a and are wordy a and b are gone. E is saying that the cupid's arrow actually appears likes comes out of somewhere and that the amateur art doesn't appear

The intent of the author is to say that the art is not typical of amateur art. The way E is written it is saying that it the cupid's arrow appears and that the amateur art does not appear. Meaning of the word appears is not the author's intent in E

Nikhil, E is a strong word and sounds too sure because of the word "unlike". E is sure that x is unlike y. Now in the argument the writer is not 100% sure as he/she uses the word "would", "seems" etc

"an amateur art" doesn't make much sense in english?

('a piece of amateur art' or 'an amateur artwork')
