First of all, thank you in advance for looking over my question!
Just took the GMAT--literally, finished it 2 hours ago, and am happy to report a 740.
25 y/o white female
My undergraduate gpa is 3.88/4.00, phi beta kappa, magna cum laude, with a BA in Econ with minors in creative writing and studio art from Bucknell (small liberal arts university, frequently called a baby ivy)
I've been working for almost 3 years for a very large global payments technology company doing economics, but unfortunately have a very old fashioned manager who doesn't believe in promoting people quickly (thus one of the reasons I want to get out via an MBA), so I have very little demonstrable advancements in my career. Had a banking internship in London at a famously now defunct bank during its last summer, while I was an undergrad.
In terms of EC's, I was highly involved in college--in a sorority, president of club sports team, TA'd for physics and theatre departments and studied abroad. I've continued to be involved after college by joining the junior league (women's volunteer organization) and helping found and run a young professionals group at my work. In addition, I've been riding horses since I was a small child, and have been doing dressage for the last two years. Also, I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but in high school I broke my back horseback riding, and had to recover from that (and am still riding).
My dream school is London Business School, as I would love to end up in London permanently. I'm also interested in Judge and Said. Back in the US, Stanford would be amazing (I'm a local girl).
Considering my career history and lack of amazing entrepreneurial experience, are these schools reasonable to consider? I know my numbers make it reasonable, but I'm worried that my work experience will be a big problem. I'm also not a super duper confidant person--ie, the idea of giving an elevator pitch terrifies me a bit. If I know what I'm talking about, I can be very confident, but I am not a great bull sh*tter unless I happen to be in the right state of mind. Is the lack of outgoingness/extrovertedness going to be a big strike against me?
All advice is greatly appreciated!
