CFA is a good certification to have in your investing career, but it will not add much value in your MBA application . This is not to say that it has no value at all, but your undergrad scores and the GMAT hold more importance. So do work on your GMAT score as you plan to.
I don't see why you should write LBS (that'st the one you are talking about?) off just yet. If your profile is strong for the b-school, then you should apply there, whatever be the selection rate. You can apply to Ox-bridge as well, but do find out more about the portfolio management roles.
I guess Canada is not under consideration- you have Rotman there.
