Minimum work exp. required??

by rajesh_6e » Wed Feb 04, 2009 7:41 am
hii,
i am working in HCL, India as a software engineer.
I am planning to join a B-school in 2010.
i will have a work ex of 22 months by aug. 2010.
Got 74% in my Engineering,
and 90% in school.
Is my work-ex of 20 months enough to get a seat in Top 20 B-schools?(Assuming i get a 700+ in GMAT)
If so which country is good for MBA in the present scenario?
Which college in Europe do u suggest ?

Thanks and Regards,
Rajesh

Dear Rajesh,

Unless the business school has an explicit requirement in terms of quantity of work experience that you don't meet (>22 months), then you should be fine in terms of that requirement. Many business schools do not have a quantity requirement, but do state a preference for at least 24 months of professional experience since graduating college. Remember, it is not the quantity of experience that is important; it is the quality of your experience during the tenure of your career. If you feel you have rapidly progressed and had opportunities to lead in the workplace, then you might have the quality that top MBA programs are seeking in applicants. Good luck,
