Hi,

I have taken GMAT twice (first attempt - 710, second attempt - 660). Now, which score would the university take 710 or 660. Is it advisable to take the GMAT again even if I were to think that I can get say a 750...won't ad com think of me as a desperate guy who has no confidence wat so ever in his profile (partially true!) and is just running after a high score. I am aiming for fall 2010 session (colleges such as Simon, Stern Haas, Tepper etc) and will have around 4 yrs of work ex by June 2010.

Please advise what should I do. Should I retake GMAT or concentrate on my apps and profile. How do I undo the damage?

It's rather strange that you scored 710 then decided to retake the exam. It's unfortunate the second score was lower than the first, but the policy for multiple exams depends on the score I believe - some schools will use the highest, others may use an average.

use the 710 and be done with it IMO. most top 10 schools will take your highest score but >3 attempts starts to look bad.

I agree - leave it at that. Most schools only look at the highest score if you've taken it twice, but if you want to ease your mind you should call the specific schools you're interested in and check with them.

710 is plenty good enough for those schools if the rest of your application is up to snuff. Good luck!
