Average of a, b, and 10 is (a+b+10)/3
Given, (a+b+10)/3 = 100

a+b+10 = 300
a+b = 290

Average of a and b is (a+b)/2 = 290/2 = 145

If the average (arithmetic mean) of a, b, and 10 is 100, what is the average of a and b?
sum of three numbers is 100 * 3 =300

a+b = 300 -10 = 290

(a+b)/2 = 290 /2 = 145

(a+b+10)/3 = 100 --> a+b = 300-10= 290
so av. of a and b = 145

avg of a and b=(a+b)/2 we need a+b

now (a+b+10)/3=100---->a+b=300-10=290

avg of a and b=290/2=145
