Can I beat the GMAT with 45 days of prep?

Hi Everyone.

Much like all else in life, I procastinated on the GMAT and plan to apply for February deadlines (September 2010).

I took my first prep test yesterday and scored a 600, 35V 35Q. It was a bit of a surprise (pleasant) because I thought quant would be my strength and verbal my weakness. I scored very poorly on the algebra section (1/8). Math is my strong point and with some brushing up on elemntary school principals I think I can boost it to 42-45 range.

I'm planning on taking a prep course (Princeton vs Kaplan, any suggestions?) and writing the second week of December. I'd like to score in the 690 range, and feel with a month of prep in quant and touching up on verbal, this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Do you guys think it's doable- Oh ya, I work full-time 60 hours a week, but I don't require much sleep for a month.

Also, I'm a very relaxed test taker and not easily unnerved.

Any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated!

I think it's definitely possible.

My study plan is as follows:

To be conservative 150 hours (12 during the week and 14 on weekends for 6 weeks.

I also plan on attending a prep course, leaning toward Kaplan but am open to suggestions.

I am strong in math, and addressing my current short-fall in quant shouldn't be an issue.

Verbal is going to take some discipline.

I am currently working on the Kaplan Math workbook, as well as the GMAT 800 questions.
