I just gave the gmatprep1 and scored a 700(Q48 v38). i'm appearing for gmat on 21st october. so that gives me around a month of preparation. this was the first CAT i took after completing the OG and manhattan guides. so i still have the 6 mgmat cats for practice.
i made silly mistakes in quant which i guess were due to lack of practice. i wanted to ask, is it possible to increase my score by 40-50 points in this one month or is it too big a target that i'm setting for myself?

Hello Tan_C,

I'd hope that it's possible because I'm trying for that myself!
My first practice exam was a dismal 490 in June before looking through any material. I had only finished like 17 questions in Quant! I took the actual test on Saturday and scored a 690 (Q49, V35). My Verbal was higher on the practice exams, so hopefully that was an anomaly which I can fix by the time the next test rolls around. I'm also shooting to raise the Q to a 50 (or even 51 if possible).

Raising the score though past 700 is definitely tough. Determination, dedication, practice, and good material and guidance is part of what we'll need though.

Best of luck!

A 50-point increase is very possible. If you check other posts in the "I Just Beat The GMAT" forum, you'll find all sort of threads about people who accomplished that sort of increase (and much greater increases).

Keep at it!

Cheers,
Brent
