Hello,
I gave GMAT last month and scored a decent 730(51/38) with 4.0 in AWA. Here is my profile in short:
22 year Indian male. Am a computer engineering graduate (from a very renowned college in India, with a 70% aggregate) working as a software developer in a very well known MNC. I have decent projects from my college time, have a good coding experience and I think I can manage a couple of recommendations, one from my current program manager and another from a college professor of mine.
The main issue that I see with applying for an MBA for batches starting in 2012 is that I do not have a very big work-experience. I have been working from 31st august, 2010- that was about 1 year ago. Which are the top-25 b-schools where I should apply where I have a decent chance of getting in? I really need help on this as application deadlines are nearing very soon.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Well done with the score young man. Its very good.

Work experience is extremely important to the majority of top business schools. Reason is simple, go to their website and see the candidature they are asking for. It requires years to fit into that level of leadership, innovation and maturity. HBS recommends 2-3 years of work experience and so does Kellogg.Only two percent of 2009 class at Wharton had less than two years of full-time work experience. That means 15 people out of 8,300 applicants (one of the highest acceptance rates out there). That gives you a 1-in-553 chance. Stopping this hogwash, let me show you hope.

You can apply to Harvard 2+2 US, UCLA Anderson, Yale US, Duke US, LBS UK, Grenoble France, Erasmus Netherlands, St.Gallen Switzerland,Tippie.

Very well put on UCLA website
How many years of work experience do I have to get before applying to UCLA Anderson?
Work experience is not required for admission to the UCLA Anderson MBA Program. We encourage recent college graduates who are ready to pursue their MBA at UCLA Anderson to apply. It is important for you to assess your own readiness when deciding to apply. Recent college graduates who have exceptional academic records and GMAT scores, as well as strong leadership in college are admitted to the UCLA Anderson MBA program. We seek to admit outstanding leaders at different points in the professional lives. Please note that it is not the quantity, but the quality of your experience (how it fits with your goals), that counts.
With a slightly different track MSF's are always there : Duke MMS, The HEC Paris - MS in International Management, The Grenoble - MS in International Business, The University of Bath School of Management - Masters in Management, The Aston Business School - MSc in Business and Management, The Masstricht University - MSc in International Business, LSE MSc in Management & Strategy, City University: MSc in Management, London Business School: Masters in Management,LSE`s Ms in Finance

How good is your academic record? Can we draw something special from extra curricular? There are a number of colleges which are whole heartedly giving calls to the younger league. What started as a less than 2 percent category has grown big now. Every body understands that 21 is the new 25. So brace yourself for the occasion young man.

If you can drop your profile information to our mailbox, we can exact your school list.

If an MBA is your goal, get another at least year to three of experience first. You could apply to an MiM at this point, but for an MBA, with less than three years work experience, you are not likely to get the most out of the program, and the schools know that.

The larger question is why the hurry to start MBA school immediately. You might find that an MBA now is not essential towards accomplishing your goals. Or on the other hand if you have specific career goals in mind that require a business education you can look at select MiM (Masters in Management) programs to see if these degrees help you accomplish your goals. The degrees are more popular in Europe and of these LBS has the best name. Just make sure to really do your due diligence on the employment success rate because completing an MiM pretty much eliminates you from a top MBA program later if you come to regret this choice.

Best of luck,

How good is your academic record? Can we draw something special from extra curricular?

What is your most important drive to go for an MBA now? How can you defend that to schools which require experience?
