At ACT, the makers of the test, they do their own R&D, and much of it is geared towards keeping you honest, by checking what you've been taught. As a result, the published materials largely subside into an ever-growing corpus of factoids that you either have to know or won't ever see.
The job of a good trainer is to increase your uptake speed, and to disclose to you things that he largely keeps to him or herself. There still are such things on earth; just make sure your trainer has them.
