Factors of 28

1,2,4,7,14 , Sum of the distinct factors = 28

(A) 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 12 is not 24, FALSE
(B) 1 + 5 is not 25, FALSE
(C)1 + 2 + 4 + 7 + 14 = 28, TRUE

The correct answer is C.

All the known Perfect numbers can be found out using the simple formula -

All of the perfect numbers that have been found so far fit the formula

{2^(n-1) * ( 2^n ) - 1 }


Try plugging in the values of n , we can get the answer in seconds...

2^1 * ( 2^2 - 1 ) = 2 * 3 = 6

2^2 * ( 2^3 - 1 ) = 4 * 7 = 28
