There are five members in a family - three children and their parents. What is the age of the father?

I. The age of father is three times the sum of the ages of two elder children and 11 years more than the sum of the squares of the ages of two younger children.
II. The average age of the family is 21 years and the mother's age is greater than 40 years but less than father's age.
It takes time and effort to explain, so if my comment helped you please press Thanks button :)

Just because something is hard doesn't mean you shouldn't try,it means you should just try harder.

a - dad s age
b - moms age
c - eldest childs age
d - elder childs age
e - youngest childs age

1. a = 3(c+d) a = 11+ d^2+ e^2 ; in sufficient
2. a>b>40; a+b+c+d+e = 105; c+d+e < 25 ; insufficient

The maximum age the dad can have is 105- 41- (1+2+3) = 58
d^2+e^2< 47
d<6
e<5

if d=5 and e = 3
a = 45
c= 10
b =42

I cant find any other solution, I go for C

Both statement alone are insufficient to solve

when taken together i think we're able to solve.

I didn't solved it fully but my intuition says C :)

I know, this is the wrong way to use but i narrowed it down and then tried.....
