Comparision basic question.

Law students learn to think LIKE a lawyer does. (WRONG)
Law students learn to think AS a lawyer does. (RIGHT)

Can we write:

a) Law students learn to think LIKE a lawyer?
b) Law students learn to think LIKE lawyers?

I think a) is fine but not sure about b)

There can be two meanings of the bottom two statements.

First is the likeness of way thinking, i.e. Law students learn to think in a same way as lawyers.
Second, Law students learn to think just like lawyer, here the likeness is between commanlity of action, how the action is performed may be different.

I think Manhattan SC clears this up and explains in detail. But its not right now in my head :(

I am referring MGMAT but couldnt see this...

So, you mean both the sentences (a and b) are correct?

your explanation may be correct but dont think I got the difference between
"LIKE a lawyer" and "LIKE lawyers"...

can you elaborate?
