I will go for B

Read the following sentence:

The proposal of project A is rejected mainly because of its cost. (project was costly..so rejected)
The proposal of project A is rejected mainly because of cost. (Because of lack of money the project was rejected)

IMO E.

In C - what does "main one" refer to?
E looks concise to me.

I'm torn between A and E

On a side note, I think some folks are overemphasizing "wordiness" as a reason to eliminate a choice.
I know that wordiness can make the difference when one has already eliminated 3 of 5 choices, but I wouldn't
automatically eliminate choices from the get-go because of wordiness.

I think it's D in GMATspeak. E is also technically correct imo and probably how I'd write the sentence in real life.

ETA: Actually I'm going with E. I read the sentence incorrectly. I need to focus better. :oops:

Nox, I was leaning toward A for that very reason. However, I don't see how choice E is necessarily incorrect.

I think the answer should be B.

several reasons calls for usage of among.
its in B correctly refers to possesive subject proposal

@Pradeep: I assume this is from MGMAT CAT. What is the OA?

I'm going with E.

But eagerly awaiting the correct answer and explanation. I haven't gotten into sentence correction yet; just basing it off my general knowledge at this point.
